The project will begin on March 21, 2025 with an online class, and will end on May 9, 2025, when participants will submit their projects (in PDF format). The competition jury (whose members will be announced later) will select the best projects for implementation. The winning project will be implemented at the UAK Campus at 253C Balicka Street during a week-long international educational workshop from June 2 to 6 this year. Erasmus BIP Mobility Week at the University of Agriculture in Krakow

From June 2 to 6, 2025, a mobility week was held at the University of Agriculture’s campus at 253c Balicka Street as part of the Erasmus BIP (Blended Intensive Programme). The event was attended by students of landscape architecture, architecture, and related fields from various institutions:

  • University of West Attica (Greece),
  • Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania),
  • George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu-Mureș (Romania),
  • Agricultural Uniwersity – Plovdiv (Bulgaria),
  • University of Agriculture in Krakow (Poland).

The project titled “EXCENTRIC LAB: Design and Implementation of a Green Wall on the URK Campus at Balicka Street in Kraków” began in March. In the first phase, students took part in a series of online lectures designed to provide the theoretical foundation for the next stages of the project. Working in international project teams, the students developed a concept for a green wall to be installed on the URK campus at 253C Balicka Street. The primary objective of the project was to create a functional, eco-friendly green infrastructure solution that supports the sustainable development of academic spaces. During the Erasmus BIP Mobility Week, all participants met on-site and collaboratively carried out the practical part of the project, which involved the implementation of selected elements of the 'green point' concept.

The project was supported by and actively involved coordinators and experts from partner universities participating in the project, who shared their experiences in the fields of teaching and research:

  • prof. dr. John Kiousopoulos (University of West Attica, Greece),
  • assoc. prof. arch. Mara Popescu, PhD (George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu-Mureș, Romania),
  • assoc. prof. Kateryna Didenko, dr  (Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania).

On June 6, 2025, during the project's closing session, the activities carried out within this initiative were summarized. Representatives of the university authorities participated in the event, including:

  • prof. dr hab. inż. Andrzej Sechman – Vice Rector for Cooperation,

  • dr hab. inż. Tomasz Bergel, prof. URK – Vice Dean for education and students affairs, Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy.

The event was conducted under the leadership of the staff from the Department of Spatial Management and Landscape Architecture:  dr. hab. inż. arch. Bogusław Podhalański, prof. URK, dr. inż. arch. Leszek Bylina, prof. dr. hab. inż. Józef Hernik, mgr Patrycja Droździel- Włodarska, dr inż. Maria Pazdan.
