Prof. dr hab. inż. Józef Hernik
He is researcher in the Department of Land Management and Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Land Surveying, at the University of Agriculture in Kraków. His main fields of interests and studies are cultural landscapes, land use and environmental development. He also studies the role of environmental policy, including risk mitigation and the role of climate change. He has been a project coordinator for four international research projects in the fields of cultural landscapes and
land management. He is the author of more than 130 scientific publications and has been involved in extensive scientific cooperation in the field of development and protection of cultural landscapes and implementation of optimal land use with universities and research institutes in Europe, the USA and Asia.
He is researcher in the Department of Land Management and Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Land Surveying, at the University of Agriculture in Kraków. Prof. dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Gawroński is an expert in spatial information systems and protection and shaping of the environment and cultural heritage. He authored and co-authored 160 research publications and monographs, including papers on list A of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education or for such publishing houses as Elsevier or Springer. He is a co-author of a patented invention. Prof. dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Gawroński tutors five PhD students. He has reviewed five PhD theses, two postdoctoral theses, and 125 research papers. He was a reviewer of academic record in three postdoctoral procedures and reviewed the overall academic records in two processes to award the title of professor. Since 1995 full Professor and Dean of the Architectural Faculty of the Lviv Politechnic University, since 2001 Director of the Department of Architecture. Since 2011 Professor for Urban Design at the University of Agriculture in Krakow. Visiting Professor at Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany (2000), Vienna University of Technology, Austria (since 2001), Cracow University of Economics (2018). Member of the German Academy for Urban and Regional Planning (DASL), Sachsonian Academy of Fine Arts (SAdK) and Ukrainian Academy for Architecture. prof. Robert Dixon-Gough (Visiting Researcher)
Professor Dixon-Gough retired in 2009 as a Lecturer and Researcher from the University of East London with extensive involvement in curriculum development and management, and research leadership. Between 1978 and 2009 he was the author of over 100 scientific publications on cartography, remote sensing, and land management and has written, co-written, edited and co-edited 18 books – the majority of which are in the field of sustainable land management. He was also the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Ashgate Publishing, International Land Management book series comprising 19 books.
Since 1980, his principal research activity has been in the field of Land Management, which encompasses a holistic view of the land and of the actions and activities, past and present that potentially influence the sustainability of this finite resource with a particular interest in cultural landscapes. His research activities have principally been funded through external grants and he has been an active collaborator in a number of European Research Projects. Externally-funded research includes: Satellite remote sensing for topographic mapping; Comparative analysis of European land administration systems; Post-industrial landscapes; Evaluation of the historical and current role of the former Austro-Hungarian cadastre from 1918 to 2009; Land ownership patterns and land management changes to the National Parks of England and Wales.
He was the UK representative of the Management Committee of the EU-COST/EFS Project, “Modelling Real Estate Transaction” [https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/G9]. He has been an active member of the European Faculty of Land Use and Development (Strasbourg), now European Academy of Land Use Development (Zurich) since 1992, involved in the publication of proceedings from 1998 to 2017, and is now an Honorary Member. Since 2009, his publications have largely involved collaboration with colleagues from the University of Agriculture in Kraków.

Dr hab inż. Tomasz Salata, Associate Professor, was awarded his PhD in Geodesy and Cartography with the specialization in Spatial Information Systems in 2007 at the Faculty of Geodesy and Spatial Management of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The subject of his doctoral thesis was Methodology of building spatial information systems for rural areas. In 2019, he was awarded postdoctoral qualifications at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, having defended his dissertation The Methodology of Building Spatial Information Systems for Rural Areas. His scientific activity focuses on the following fields of study: application of GIS in the analysis of spatial resources for agricultural production and environmental protection; application of GIS for spatial planning and development, cultural landscape, spatial governance, and spatial policy; conducting conceptual research work for the development of spatial information systems and application of GIS tools in hydrological research. He has authored and co-authored 60 scientific publications, including five books of his own, four chapters in monographs, 47 articles in journals, and four publications in conference materials. She graduated from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Land Surveying of the Academy of Agriculture in Kraków. She was awarded a PhD in land surveying and cartography, speciality real estate management in 2009 at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. She is an assistant professor at the Department of Land Management and Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Land Surveying of the University of Agriculture in Kraków.

Her professional and academic careers converge at the University of Agriculture and the University of Economics in Kraków. Her research resulted in over 50 academic papers in Polish and English. Apart from research and teaching, she is active in the business domain. She supports people and organisations in development and empowerment. He was awarded a PhD in technical sciences, land surveying and cartography in 2019. His research focus is land-use and cover changes and their modelling. He was awarded a scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education twice, Talents of the Świetokrzyski Region three times, and awards of the Rector of the University of Agriculture. He has participated in numerous placements abroad (Spain, Russia, Slovakia, Hungary) and short-term research visits. He heads several research projects, including Young Researchers and Miniatura 3 (National Science Centre). In 2015, he was a volunteer researcher at the Department of Agricultural Land Surveying of the Małopolskie Voivodeship Marshal Office. He is a reviewer of more than ten international journals and the editor of a special issue of Remote Sensing (MDPI).

She studied Land Surveying and Cartography and Land Management at the University of Agriculture in Kraków. She defended her PhD thesis ‘Methods for processing spatial data to identify suburbanisation processes’ on 9 December 2015 with honours. She was awarded the title of PhD in technical sciences, land surveying and cartography. During her Erasmus+ placement, she conducted research at the University of Bonn. She authored and co-authored research papers on local development, spatial governance, and suburbanisation processes. She was a teaching and research assistant from 2015 to 2020 and now is an assistant professor at the Department of Land Management and Landscape Architecture. She teaches students of Land Management and Land Surveying and Cartography. Academic interests: development of the suburban zone, local development, spatial information systems, GIS tools.

Since 2013, her academic career has been with the University of Agriculture in Kraków. She participated in research placements in Lviv, Budapest, and Vilnius. She is the head of the science popularisation project International Architecture and Landscaping Competition under contract 514/P-DUN/2019 financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. She participates in the NAVA and Trans-European Education for Landscape Architects projects. Her academic interests include semiurbanisation and revitalisation.

mgr inż. Katarzyna Cegielska
She is a graduate of Land Management at the University of Agriculture in Kraków. She has been part of the Department of Land Management and Landscape Architecture since 2014. Her academic interests are the application of GIS tools in spatial analyses, particularly for spatial planning and land-use and cover changes due to anthropogenic pressure. She has had several international research placements (Szent István University – Budapest and Universitat Politècnica de València – Valencia) and short-term research visits in Kyiv, Lviv, and Brno. She manages research project in Young Researchers. Her scientific effort yielded 30 publications and numerous speeches at Polish and international academic conferences and symposiums. She combines academic work with practice. She has had two internships with one of the very few Polish companies that design advanced GIS software with original technologies and solutions for implementing GIS in local government administration.

She has had several international research placements (Szent István University – Budapest; Universitat Politècnica de València – Valencia; and Slovak University of Agriculture – Nitra) and short-term research visits in Florence, Kyiv, and Lviv. She teaches students of Land Management and Land Surveying and Cartography. Research interests: land-use changes, land management, real estate management.

Dr inż. Karol Król (PhD, BEng) is a qualified information architect, front-end web developer, IT support technician, academic researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Land Surveying of the University of Agriculture in Krakow. He studies the uses of computer techniques and tools of spatial data presentation, data visualization, as well as performance, functionality and usability of websites. His research interests include, among others, digital heritage (Digital Cultural Heritage Laboratory), data analytics and internet technologies, work organization and management, as well as marketing strategies.
